Nerf announces new Zombie Strike line

With the huge popularity of “The Walking Dead” on TV and “World War Z” at the movies in recent months, it was only a matter of time until the toy industry jumped on the zombie bandwagon. Nerf is introducing a line of products called Zombie Strike, which features swords, a crossbow, shotguns and many other weapons to help you to survive a zombie apocalypse.

The Crossfire Bow is capable of firing projectiles up to 75 feet. This is the first crossbow Nerf has released in 20 years. The Fusefire Blaster fires glowing discs. It features a continuous loading system, allowing the user to fire the discs in rapid succession. Five discs are included. The Sidestrike Blaster is a hand gun and holster that is also capable of firing its darts up to 75 feet. Other items in the line are the Sledgefire, the Hammershot Blaster, the Strike Blade, the Ripshot Blaster and the Ricochet Blaster. A Zombie Strike Target set will also be available. It will include a target, three darts and a small blaster.

The rollout of the Zombie Strike line will begin in the second half of 2013 and carry over into 2014. The line will be available at Target. Prices will range from $8 to $20.
